>>50519478That's only in extremely rare instances. In most cases, a Pokemon isn't really hurt after a battle, just tired and needs to rest. There are even a lot of instances where a Pokemon faints, is declared unable to battle, but gets right back up.
The anime has more and more gone with the "they're exhausted, not injured" approach over the years.
