So as an oldfag like me that grew up with the original gen 1 and 2 games recognize and love the classic beefy look.
It was especially well defined in Crystal as the definitive look for Feraligatr when you experience playing with him IN GAME.
Yes the artwork you linked has been around for a while, but as far sprites and conflicting artististic directiosn between spriter and Ken's changes I prefer the original.
It's more Kaijuu style and i have great memories with it.
