a friend and I had this argument literally a few hours ago, so we settled to use two scenarios to reach the most concise outcome of Cynthoa's MegaChomp vs Diantha's MeGardevoir
given that we agreed that the anime does whatever it wants and stats and hard numbers dosnt exist there we went for two scenarios:
scenario A:
>Game Cynthia vs Game Diantha
and for scenario B we went for the middle ground:
>Anime Moveset + Game Stats Cynthia vs Anime Moveset + Game Stats Diantha
for stats we settled for the stats datamined from their latest appearence, im this case, XY Champion Diantha vs BDSP second rematch Champion Cynthia.
for the movesets we used the latest used moves from the anime.
then we plasted the numbers on showdown's calculator and these are the results for each scenario:
A)
the total speed of each mon (275 for Chomp and 173 for Garde) show that Mega Garchomp goes first and can guarantee a OHKO via either Earthquake and Poison Jab, meanwhile, M.Garde just offers a guaranteed 2HKO via Moonblast IF she survives for X reason.
B)
similar to the precious scenario M.Chomp goes first, but this time she doesnt have access to either Poison Jab or EQ, instead she relies on Stone Edge for a guaranteed* 2HKO, M.Garde is literally the same here so she cant kill the chomp unless she manages to pull a critical hit
