Not to pull a Scott, but I did a google for Serebii's old threads when AG was coming to an end. Some definitely were hoping that May was staying and going with Ash to Sinnoh, even as late as the episode where Harley and Drew mention going to Johto.
I checked the Kenny lighthouse episode of DP as well, and most of what they were talking about was Pearlshipping and Dawn rejecting Kenny. A couple people were speculating that Dawn would eventually go to Johto with Kenny (I guess because Jasmine = Johto) after the League, but I don't get a huge sense from this episode, and I don't want to search much longer.
