>>49204316You're right. I wish things would scale back, it'll never happen, but if they didn't have such a tight schedule things could be so much better. Letting the other arms of the franchise do their own thing for a while: let the anime introduce a pokemon not as a teaser for the next game that's already well into development but as its own thing that will be added once Game Freak gets a chance be that the next game or a couple games into the next generation, let the tcg do more experimental stuff that may not even correlate to the games like delta species, give the toy teams projects that aren't just make a simple version of a device in the games or another line of plushies - we used to have marbles and tiny finger skateboards(tech decks, is that what they were called? God it's been so long.) and disc launchers, why not something different like kites with flying type designs or an rc car with a shell shaped like pikachu in full sprint to go with that mario kart thing they put out a little while ago? Just give the devs room to breathe and do their best work or step back for a bit to rekindle their passion. I think completely inexperienced devs like ilca was the wrong choice, but outsourcing remakes and rehashes would mean one less project on Game Freak's plate while not skipping a main series release to feed the marketing machine. And it's often small things, but even doing split versions means more work than just making one game so I'm hoping pla means they'll stop doing that and instead of version exclusives just make some pokemon with mutually exclusive spawning per save file based on some value like your trainer id to maintain that cooperative approach to catching them all, it'd at least save on writing those minor changes to the plot and different assets that half the players will never see. Even if what we've seen throughout gen 8 hasn't been great at least they're experimenting, so hopefully they'll find something good that works sustainably.
