>>45839840Its not really a favorite, but i liked the design enough over anything else in galar to add it to my team.
Gamefreak game design is shit, so fucking inconsistent. Some people say they are too incompetent to make their games hard, but they just have a shit take on game difficulty, which isn't really tied with sales anyways. They try to make the game piss easy because they think kids will give up on it if they get stuck. Thats why Cinderace instantly learns the best fire move it can learn just after evolving at level 35.
They are however incompetent too, in making the game easy. Frosmoth is completely shit. You might think this is a good thing, since using it could be something kinda close to a hardmode. Not really, you get it really late, its slow, frail and has an awful type combination.
You can easily beat SwSh while being around 5 levels lower than the AI with your level up moves. This applies to most pokemon, but not to frosmoth. If you dont overlevel frosmoth above the AI, the ammount of battles where you will be able to use it will be minimal. Almost everything in the late game, specially Leon's team, can take down frosmoth with ease, even the dragons. Any pokemon that can be beaten by frosmoth will always be beaten more efficiently by at least one of the other 5 mons on your team.
The main problem is the stat distribution. It has an amazing special attack, but nothing else. Frosmoth will practically never get the change to use quiver dance in late game battles. You likely wont get the hidden ability for a regular playthrough, but without it is appalling. If you dont overlevel it enough for it to outspeed the foe, or take one super-effective hit without fainting, it wont be useful. And even then, frosmoth is not versatile at all, it can OHKO most things that are weak to its stab and 2hko neutral targets, thats it. Most pokemon can outspeed and OHKO or 2HKO frosmoth, so it will barely have the chance to hit more than once, or to even hit once.
