>>22024824For Sugimori-style shading, simplify it even more than that. For the basic shading areas it's almost always one solid section of shading, and where that section of shading meets the regular color there's a thin line of 50% opaque shading color all the way along the edge.
Hard to explain but hopefully this helps. Don't overthink it and make the shadows blur like you would normally, make them stand out.
