I usually only nickname pokemon I use in doubles to give the team more "personal" feeling. And the rest of my mons
the only recent exception has been nicknaming the Talonflame I use for hatching eggs. He's the one I spend the most time with, and I even bother to play Amie games to kill time when I'm not in the mood for playing other games.
