I know it's a nod to the "if you dig deep enough you'll end up in china" meme but still. Although if you want to omit Hoopa you can still make the argument that this cave connects to Turnback cave via the Distortion World. Perhaps at its deepest point there is an entrance to the Distortion World which then acts as a wormhole to reach Sinnoh and you'll come out at Turnback cave. Would explain how the pixies got to Unova.
