1. If you're after specific natures, try to get one that boosts Special Defense. That's one of Tangrowth's few weaknesses (he's more of a physical wall, but his incredibly high HP makes him sturdy enough).
2. ROCK SLIDE. Teach that motherfucker Rock Slide, and he'll be able to shred through four of the five types of Pokémon (Flying, Fire, Ice, Bug). EQ can take care of the fifth (Poison), and his high attack makes both attacks work really well.
If trained properly, this motherfucker will serve you well.
