I personally love Paras/Parasect because they're based on the "Cordyceps" fungi which take control of ants' brains via spores and force them to climb up high, where they die and release spores to spread. It's pretty fucked up when you think about it that they'd put something like this in a kid's game.
I only recently learned about these fungi 2-3 years ago and it fucked up my idea of pokemon
