>>50181069Happy you got a chuckle out of something there.
>>50181525Aw, thank you! If I could think of other Pokemon traveling with Brent that could be stand alones... Chase and Manjushri are the only two that come to mind. Neither of them are Pokemon Trainers like Haley, it just doesn't interest them.
Chase has a Super Mario World inspired yellow cape that he can fly around with, and he does that pretty regularly (at least when he's not working) as he doesn't like staying in one place for too long and he's a hedonistic alcoholic party/fun loving fiend. I imagine with the Pokedollars he gets from working with the Spring Vibrations, he just takes the money and spends it all on alcohol, parties, and clubs. So he does spend a little time stand alone having fun with all the freedom he's got, which is the life he's always wanted.
Manjushri is just a wise fantasy monk. He spends weeks to months in deep seclusion (as he has no concept of time and doesn't need to eat) trying to find enlightenment through meditation and the AURA, only really coming out when someone needs or wants him. To go on a bit of a long tangent. I've always felt Manji was the most interesting mon Brent made friends with, due to his personal goal of finding enlightenment via seclusion and detaching worldly attachments being at odds with the friends, loved ones, pride, and happiness he's gained from traveling with and being around them. I believe that towards the end of Manji's life he'd eventually leave Brent and his Student's company to find an Urshifu to guide him on the rest of his journey. I also think that when that happens the Urshifu would likely show him that true enlightenment requires more than just solitude & focus, but balance and equilibrium of both yourself and your life. The experiences, friends, and feelings, etc. you made/have are necessary to obtain that divinity, and I know Manji would get pretty emotional realizing that all he's done with his companions was worth it in the end.
