>>55232832>Elaborate?Well the way I think about it is this: you start the game and pick the girl to look at tits and ass while you play. But you dont realize until later that being treated like a girl and imagining yourself as a girl in a RPG is creating some conflict. And that conflict has to be resolved somehow.
The pokemon games and RPGs in general are really good at connecting you as the player with your avatar, and they want that connection to be as strong as possible so you can get immersed in the world. Their goal is to make it so you arent just a player controlling a character in a game, you ARE the character in the game
So when you pick a girl character as a guy, theres some dissonance at first because youre not the girl in the game, youre a person observing the girl in the game. The game wants you to get immersed, so it identifies you with the girl character you chose and tries to pull you in. The game doesnt know or care that you lied about your character, its just doing what its supposed to do to get you immersed, but externally this continues to create conflict. If youre able to recognize whats going on and put up a barrier between you and the game then that dissonance is something you can deal with, but 1. That takes some extra amount of continuous awareness and mental fortitude, and 2. Youre actively fighting against the intention of the game design to get you immersed.
On the other hand if you ever want to get immersed in the game, then at some point you have to address whats happening, either by switching to the appropriate gender so you feel more comfortable immersing yourself, or if you cant do that, then you have to start accepting how the game is treating you as a girl
So if you choose the opposite gender character at the start, and you eventually want to get immersed in the game, you wind up just fucking with yourself mentally. You eventually have to decide whether you reject that or you just accept it and adapt to it
Thats just my take on it
