I'm saying that referring to a pokemon as "he" or "she", and talking about how "he got a new move this gen" and shit like that, means that you think of them as a character, rather than a species comprised of millions of individuals.
It's like posting a picture of a random wolf downloaded from the internet and talking about it like: "WOLF is such a badass, isn't he? I love WOLF! He has killed thousands of humans over the centuries! He has killed more humans than Hitler! What a cool guy!".
It's even worse in Pokemon because, unlike that wolf, a picture of a pokemon doesn't even portray a specific member of the species. It's just the appearance of that species of pokemon, not an individual in particular.
