I have a type chart for my own little world, and to make sense of it, I actually got rid of Wind as an element. Anything that has to do with wind has some other kind of element mixed in, like blizzards, dust or debris storms, heat waves, mist or fog, pollen or seed dispersal, thunderstorms, healing wind, poisonous gas, etc.
Any basic wind attack would merely be typless, because wind arguably wouldn't be good against anything anyway. Temtem here had to do some mental gymnastics to get it to work: Not all poisons are airborne and win erosion is a painfully slow process.
In Pokemon, most special Flying-type moves (basically Wind) are essentially the same: razor sharp winds but at varying strengths (Chatter and Oblivion Wing are weird exceptions). So I thought that to be easily swept under the rug in favor or more... flavor.
