This game is exactly what the series needed. Anyone that isn't a child got bored of walking around with childish dialog and cutscenes and running around into wild pokemon every 2 seconds that you don't care about (which grows exponentially for most people any time they release more) a long time ago. The fact of the matter is that SEEING AND CATCHING Pokemon is more rewarding than the tedious and trivial "battling" of wild Pokemon, of which the most exciting part is watching the Pokeball wiggle and seeing if you catched it or not. Catching, and Trainer/Gym battles along with seeing the world and seeing the Pokemon and the more humble stories of Gen 2/3 and creating your own personal team and identity within the world and becoming immersed in it are the greatest strengths of the series. Grinding, IVs, EVs, wild pokemon and all of that other shit are not. As someone who is in their mid twenties this is the first time in a LONG time that I've been interested in a Pokemon game and I'm happy Nintendo seems to have found a medium that will actually be appreciated and enjoyed by all age groups (besides angsty shitposters) and plays on the strengths of the series.
Additionally, I have downloaded Pokemon GO and it's actually a pretty novel game even if it lacks depth because it gives me a reason to go outside. Anyone that says Eevee/Pikachu aren't obviously 100% better than everything past Gen 4 are delusional retards, edgy shitposters, or just edgy.
