>Welcome to the world of Pokémon, empty cardboard cutout designed to be projected on by the player!
What does that even mean? What exactly does the player project in your opinion?
>You have no connection to the story, and you wish to become champion simply because that's the point of the game, not for any actually compelling reason.
SV is the first game that actually gives you other things to do. Even Nemona, the one who compels you to trying to become champion because she can tell that you have talent, tells you that you are free to help Arven or Penny instead if you want.
>Along the way, you will meet brighter, more colorful, more interesting characters than you, who deserve to be champion more than you do.
Paldea is the first region where there is not just one champion, but one Top Champion and several Champion Class trainers who beat her. Literally the third character you meet is a champion (Nemona), and Arven said he's thinking about trying to become champion to.
>You will still beat them in every single battle, especially at the end when you'd most want to see THEM win.
This is an inherent flaw in Pokémon games, desu. Losing is always bad, the "You get overwhelmed by your defeat" stuff is retarded. They should make the games harder and less punishing so that losing and winning actually have meaning, especially if it's non-story fights.
>Also you will be the one to stop the world-ending Legendary Pokémon, and not someone actually connected to events.
Did not happen in SV (yet) because there is no world-ending Legendary, just a crazy ass human. But I do wish the others contributed more to the final fight, yes. At least they were there at all.
>Enjoy your journey! I know you will, because you're designed to!
That makes no sense either, what the fuck does that mean?
