>>45693516Gloria is a newcomer and default not memorable enough or known, Leaf was never meant to exist to begin with, they just needed to invent a female MC for Kanto in an era where other gens introduced female MCs since the start (well Crystal is a somewhat exception) but you get the idea, they have just revamped a lass but blander and called it a day.
For some reason she never appeared in the more recent mainline games from HGSS to even LGPE where another one was introduced with a different name. They know they did fuck up and for some reason are making it harder to even canonize a single Kanto MC entity even. She's got the Leaf name only outside of the main games, some 2018 or 2019 figure merch and Masters.
Not a single Leaf looking reference trainer or her in person appeared in any animated series either, weird. She's just "that pokemon girl from smash".
Misty on the other side got it better coming from the Pokemon boom in both games and anime and is still appearing in both of them once in a while.
