For those who need a refresher, here's what happened when Sword/Shield came out:
>Missing a big chunk of the Dex. Dexit!
>Gamefreak claimed it was due to time spent modeling/animating. They actually reused models/animations from 3DS titles
>...Mons were added in only due to fan outcry
>Fewest towns of any Pokemon Game
>Postgame is DLC
>Lots of Mythicals/Legendaries in DLC
>Galarian forms in DLC or trade via Pokemon Home
>Pokemon Home required to transfer mons
>Home is glitchy, requires a cell phone, and costs money to move faster than a snail
>$109+ tax for a pokemon game + Pokemon Home subscription and DLC
>$209+tax for a two pack (one Home account)

Special shoutout to Diamond/Pearl remakes where Wonder Trade is still missing. They haven't even finished fixing all the features on these games yet are still releasing Scarlet/Violet this winter.

You haven't missed much. XY was the last game that felt like "real" pokemon to me. Ultra SUMO was OK, but gimmicky. The rest weren't worth the $60 IMHO.

I was too broke to buy on launch day. After hearing about the DLC I'm glad I waited. Masuda's broken promises are mounting...

See image for example of recycled sprites. Also, the game doesn't scale well. It looks very jagged on an actual TV screen IMHO.
