I get they realized how big leaks could be with XY, but I honestly don't expect gamefreak to of had that kind of forethought to go so far as to put a timer on in-game content to have it match street date. I just don't see them bothering with anything like that at all.
At best the battle frontier just plain hasn't been discovered by the leakers yet, otherwise it's unfortunately canned.
