In a metagame where "bulky water" is a subtype all in itself, it's goddamn stupid how they gave them an 80 BP + STAB attack with a 30% chance to totally shut down a physical attacker, and not to mention that it hits like a nuke in rain.
Fuck Scald. It'd be a lot more tolerable if it was rarer but it's a goddamn TM and off the top of my head I can't think of any Water-types that DON'T learn it.
