The Balls shrinking them or turning them into energy are completely valid and that’s how it worked in the series ever since South America was retconned out of the series.
Literally everything besides an old outdated book and the new Gen 8 games that retconned the rule has shown this.
It even is shown off in your Gifs it shows that the Pokeballs are doing the work.
