Salamence causing mutation to grow wings through sheer willpower is awesome and I can forgive being dragon since it's from before they overdid it with the dragon pseudos.
Most of Kommo-o's place comes from how I would have preferred a different direction from Hakamo-o. They definitely overdid it with the scales, and it doesn't do anything interesting with fighting type. It's so bad in battle, GameFreak had to give it illegal Shell Smash in S/M's battle tree, and then the one of the most broken signature Z-moves just to keep it relevant. Plus, I was more invested in there being no dragon pseudo than the starter wars before SM. Same with SwSh or whatever acronym you prefer.
