the hatebase for that generation is amazing, and its not helped by the fact that leddit has spammed HOENN CONFIRMED until the mere mention makes people ill
maybe it's the fact its the awkward middle child that came out while nostalgiafags when through their "too cool for pokemon" phase but before newfags got into it
damn shame cuz it had the best pokedex additions and music and was the first generation to really get the "legendary" thing right. the starters all did something new and were really balanced against each other, abilities were amazing, dive remains the greatest HM ever, hold items were expanded from a gimmick to a major factor, the battle frontier was probably the best it's ever been... i could go on, but gen 3 really doesn't get its due and it's a crying shame
