So this one has no respect for the rules, but I like what I've done. The protagonist of this game would be a young up and coming international double battler who travels to the capitals of 4 different regions (one of which is their home region) to compete in doubles tournaments there. Story pacing would take notes from Golf Story and the size and time length spent in these locations would take notes from Paper Mario TTYD.
The starters are your family's Eevee and a Rotom given to you by the eccentric professor of your hometown. Each place you travel to for a tournament has a unique list of wild pokemon found there with no overlap between locations, and a questline involving Johto's roaming legendaries and the Regis. The initial 60 pokemon in the dex can be found in the player's home town and capital city of their region, while the next 3 segments are the pokemon found in the other regions. After competing in the 3 tournaments in Sovonnoh, Arcticos and Jongloh (in any order), the player returns to their home region's capital city - which they can now access more areas of - for a final tournament.
Overall the game would aim to feel much more like Colleseum or Yokai Watch than a mainline game.
