>>50341236The concept I had for the game was basically a ripoff of the Fallout franchise as well, minus the vaults, where global war or other catastrophe brought about by human hands forced people to hibernate in storages that could keep them in stasis. When the tech that preserved people started releasing people hundreds of years later, be it from low energy or a timer, they found that the local flora and fauna has mutated during their absence into totally-not-Pokémon and that the technology that preserved them can in turn be used to capture the creatures.
Why I found this setting to be likable is that it gives a reason as to why the creatures exist, where the technology that captures them originated from, and that the setting allows for many areas to be explored, be it settlements or ruins. I also like the idea of foraging and scavenging for components to craft items yourself, much like what Pokemon Legends did.
But, that's only a concept. Both Pokémon and games like Temtem take place in a world where all of this have already been normalised, so I thought this angle could set the game apart. But if programmers or other contributors would rather see a new universe with the same setting then I can work with that too. I just really hate Gamefreak atm.
>>50341456When you say "animate these", do you refer to the ones in the dropbox? While I've made some GSC sprites, I haven't really dabbled with animation yet so this would be a new territory for me. I checked some of the ones in the dropbox and while some are just decent, some of them are great, so unless you're halfway through the project where improving the quality of placeholders suddenly become ideal, I don't really see the need to aid you before seeing some game progress.
