I just realized something.
It's been quite some time since I've actually played the first games (R/B) and so I did until I realized something that I'm actually very surprised isn't in the recent games.
I'm talking about the EXP. system incorporated in R/B. Now I know people might be scratching their heads over this because as of now, Sun/Moon has Black/White's exp. system, but that's not exactly what I mean.
You know how whenever a pokemon has massive exp. points in Sun and Moon, they level up one level at a time until they stop, right? Like from lv. 1 to lv. 18, for instance and going to each level (lv. 2, lv. 3, lv. 4, so on). Well, playing in the very early beginning of R/B, I noticed my Pidgey, who got a certain amount of exp., instead of leveling up one level at a time, went instantly from lv.4 to lv.6, battled another pokemon and from lv.6, went straight to lv.8. Which makes me wonder.
How come this isn't integrated in the newest games, given that grinding is one of the tasks we often face daily regarding training any sort of pokemon? Like, imagine you're training a Rowlet. Instead of going through a load of consecutive "leveled up" messages as you level him from lv. 1 to lv. 18, why doesn't Rowlet level up to the level all that EXP has granted him all at once (from lv. 1 to lv. 18)?
