It's too small so they make it maze-like with tight corridors everywhere and buildings you want to get to the rooftops on, but said rooftops only have very specific ways to reach up to, so you end up playing hug the wall constantly against buildings to find the way up. Not sure if the free Kalos starter you get from a sidequest is gender locked or not (mine was female), but due to how battles work, you have to really struggle to get a second catch if you want an Alpha later thanks to how ball throws work this time.
