now that string theory is canon to the pokemon universe, whether or not we went with zinnia's plan and if it worked or not would have made no difference. there are nearly infinite universes with slight differences where we went with her plan, and just as many where we didn't go with her plan and just dropped the meteor on a different timeline. this would also mean that if we just teleported the meteor, and it ended up preventing any of the teams from succeeding by mass extinction, there are also a near infinite number of those timelines, just as there are nearly infinitely many where someone managed to stop the meteor that was sent into that timeline where the villain team did or did not succeed in their goal. in short, zinnia does not truly understand the scale of what she ran her mouth about, and it is all such an insane diceroll of what would happen to the universe that the meteor was sent into, that it isn't really worth considering, since there are, you guessed it, nearly infinitely many universes where her plan would have failed and the meteor wiped out all life, ORAS just happens to be in one of the universes where zinnia's plan worked.
