>>56149421For a gaming franchise as iterative and longrunning as pokemon, powercreep was always going to be an issue as newer and newer pokemon need to stand out more and more. Shit like Close Combat and 120 BP Outrage being a thing in generation 4 was the beginning of obscene powercreep, or gen 2 for adding leftovers and Blissey if you're THAT old. I'm not sure how it could ever be prevented outside of never making new pokemon again.
