>>46229734I wasn't expecting much going into it, but, honestly? Pretty damn solid game. Apart from the points you brought up (which I agree with), my only real complaint is that grinding's pretty miserable, and happens semi-frequently on classic mode. You can't refight any trainers and the exp you get from wild mons is pretty consistently on the low end throughout the entire game (though I've only just reached Gym #5's town, Wester City or something I think). Anytime you want to add a new team member or get filtered by a gym leader/X-mon fight and need to train up a bit it takes longer than it should imo. I know classic mode's intended to be the 'harder' difficulty, but at some point it feels more tedious than anything. I think introducing a Vs. Seeker type of item would be great as trainers give pretty decent amounts of exp and it'd help break up the monotony of farming wild mons.
Apart from some overworld stuff as mentioned earlier, the game looks great. B/W moving sprites are great, dex is pretty solid (though maybe availability of some of the new fakemons & evolutions could be tweaked), art's great, music has some issues looping from what I've heard but maybe that's just me, the music itself (especially Team Dimension and the X-mon music) is great. Story could be better, but it's a solid foundation.
>>46229777Regional bird is amazing. More so a physical attacker but special attacks are still okay. Acrobatics on it shreds, and if you get one with a hidden ability (Motor Drive, wild mons can occasionally have their hidden ability) it turns into Drizzle by its final form which opens up stuff like Thunder & Hurricane. Bonus points if you're using Shulong like I am which is boosted by the rain. But even if you don't it's still great. Rexquiem is okay, solid enough mon atm. You can get it to its final stage super fast after first catching it and it's been doing well enough. Haven't gotten Porygon-WES yet. Pic related is my current team, last slot still pending.
