You are walking through the woods near your house one night. You've walked them for years and feel completely safe, the darkness unfazing. You go deeper in than usual this night for no particular reason. As you walk you hear a twig snap somewhere off to the side. Never having heard of anything remotely dangerous in the woods, and being the overtly curious person you are, you wander off in the direction of the sound. You keep walking until you are sure you are where the sound came from when you notice something moving further into the dark. ..Something human sized. You're a bit more apprehensive now, but you know everyone in the town, and the odds of anyone you wouldn't want to meet are slim. You call out a hello to whoever it is. You can just make out the figure whipping around to look back at you before it darts further into the black of the forest. Perplexed, you follow after, saying you just wanted to talk as you weave between the trees. It occurs to you that whoever this is may not want to be found or talked to, but you keep after them anyway in your typical, stupidly curious manner, albeit a bit more slowly and quietly now. Whoever this is is very good at moving through a forest unhindered. And quietly; You can't make out the sound of a single footstep even though this person is moving much faster than you are. You do get glimpses of whoever it is here and there; you guess they must be female based on the relative shortness, although you can't think of anyone in town, male or female, as skinny as this person. Eventually your quarry comes to a halt. Redoubling your stealthy efforts, you creep closer and begin to identify details of the person.
