Torterra whole execution just feels like poor men's Venusaur, It's design good but it's pre evos are terrible, just doesn't has enough personality to be a starter, even the other two have more personality to them, the whole Turtwig line is just a turtle
Infernape has been cursed with being Fire Fighting again, for being inspired on Sun Wu Kong the final design really leaves a lot to desire like the cloud, could have been fire/flying or even Psychic, again the final design is okay but the pre evos suck hard
Empoleon is badass and Piplup the heavily marketed one, probably the best starter of the trio but compared to its water starters peers which all tend to be amazing over that point in the franchise... looking back now he is indeed pretty great since water sucked in 5,7 and 8
Are they just bad competitive too? I never see people talking about them? Or even use them
