How many foreign movies have been made about mexican culture compared to foreign movies about Spain? how many mexican directors have made instant classics in Hollywood(the world's Nr.1 first world movie industry)? how many mexican artist have left a strong impression all over the world, including in Spain like Chespirito? How many mexican videogame characters there are compared to spaniard ones?
I'm not saying Spain is "literaly who?" Tier. They have a wonderful and millenarian culture that reshaped half of the world once, but you can't deny that Mexican culture comes before Spain's in the minds of the countries that produce and export multimedia. It's this fact what makes Mexicans feel entitled to a Pokemon region in the first place. As cringe as it is.
