I probably would try the Sinnoh league, but fail on Bertha due to ground and decide I'd rather travel around and experience new places and things. Maybe challenging some gym leaders, but never actually finishing a full set to challenge another league.
I'd attempt to waifu this cutie after failing to woo Dawn.
