>>34850937I think it's more of a "owned pokemon" vs "wild pokemon" kind of situation. Wild pokemon can take care of themselves quite easily, but owned pokemon need to follow certain social norms, just like humans do. Not only that, but (most of the time) they would be restrained to a different environment, like a city, suburbs, etc. Imagine an Ice Type: Of course, they can freeze their environment with no problem whatsoever, but it still would be taxing to do so constantly, solely to survive living in a warm place.
