>>47678267Because PSA was first to make it big from what I understand. On a grand scale, they've just been in the business the longest. For years, collectors have trained other collectors that when you think of "graded" the first thing that should come to your head is PSA. YouTube also is to blame because so many collectors/investors always say "oh this charizard should get a PSA 10" they never say "I assume this charizard should get a 10 if I get it graded". The three letters "PSA" just get passed on more and more. CGC got into the business later and I agree, they have been more strict I believe in order to win the hearts of customers to see that they care about their grading. Recently there was a guy on YouTube who posted a video of him opening a PSA graded 1st base booster pack and it was a resealed pack. PSA has been slacking lately but they ride on their history and their cockiness that they are still the best. I believe that people take them more seriously subconsciously because the piece of paper that shows the card's name and grade looks a little more professional/uniform? Maybe, that's just a guess. But yes, CGC doesn't get the love it fully deserves but there are many YouTubers who show respect for the company, thankfully.
On a final note, some people I've listened to over time just say they don't take CGC seriously because the company is "too new" to be good. Such bullshit. in my opinion. Their company overall grades much more than PSA as the sister branches grade coins, comic books, etc.
