>>45771769>StoryIt's laughably fucking bad
>CharactersVery few characters in SWSH are likeable, let alone 'good'. The few that are tend to be DLC exclusive with one or two exceptions. The two character you'll be forced to interact with the most though (Hop) is the most insufferable fucking characters in any Mon game, however; he's just so obnoxiously forced and comes off as patronizing and narcissistic.
>The Region ItselfRanges from just bare-bones ok to outright bad at points, as it's very clear the Wild Area was intended to make up for most of it's lack of actual content but fails to due to the Wild Area lacking anything of substance of it's own. The region is a mess, and the world of Galar feels shallow. The IoA is meh, but CT at least is actually fun to roam around in and has numerous secret areas hidden out of sight that actually have things in them. Locked behind DLC though, that's not a good look.
>The Region PokemonThe best part of the games and the only reason I've kept playing them. Gen 8 has an extremely good fucking roster of Pokemon, and with maybe two exceptions (only one of which is objectively bad, Duraludon, the other I just hate) just about all the new Pokemon are ok at worst or top-tier design at best. Some of the best Mons I've seen are here and I love almost all of them. Shame they're stuck in this pile of trash.
>QoL ChangesActually good. SWSH has a lot of decent ones, such as keeping the bottle caps from Gen 7 (lets you raise an IV to 31) and added Mints (which allow you to change what stats are raised and lowered as if it had a different nature). These things allow you to use any mon you catch for competitive. Coupled with the new Mark mechanic (wild pokemon may occasionally have special 'mark' ribbions which give them titles upon being sent out) and it really feels like the game encourages you to use wild pokemon you catch over breeding. Breeding (or injecting) can still be easier sometimes though. Other QoL changes exist as well.
