My team is built to have type synergy and play some basic roles (set up sweeper, revenge killer etc.) and I try to cover my own weaknesses and consider common threats I come across online etc. I wouldn't call anything on it a shitmon and in fact, most I like in part because they're mechanically good (G-Corsola) but there's things that are outclassed within their role (eg Gardevoir) etc. too.
For the record I've made it to Great Ball 2 so far without really trying too hard. Threw together a team of trained things that aren't really intended to be a team but don't have a glaring type weakness, while I wait for my proper team.
