>>48458399I don't think they raised my standards, I just happen to have a "type" and some designs just happen to align with that.
Take Hilda for example, she has that 1980s topknot and mussy hair. Even before her game came out, I always had a thing for brunettes and girls with mussy hair. Plus ponytail styles do work better on some women and she has just the right amount of grit where it's not offputting in some of her depictions. It's not just her, there are other characters whose looks resonate in some way with my tastes. I never really got prominent foreheads as a detriment in on itself, there's ugly girls with fiveheads sure but they're not ugly BECAUSE of the fivehead, at least in not in my book and Roxanne hits some notes that remind of some bookish or nerdy types I grew up or worked with and the jock-inverse of that were sporty, preppy go getter types that make me think of Rosa.
If anything, I'd just rather date a woman who hasn't let themselves go or is willing to be a workout partner. I'm holding myself to a standard of keeping my waistline down and the most this has affected my taste is having a weight limit in a partner.
