Appraisals never changed the fact that you keep around high IV Pokemon especially when dust is plentiful. Appraisals were a quality of life improvement and also saved you from wasting dust+candy on trying to narrow down IV ranges which was nice.
You farm shitmons for candy.
You use the candy to boost up your good hatches/catches.
>skipping catches just because they have low CPThis was shitter behaviour then, it is shitter behaviour now. The only case where you wouldn't want a low CP high IV Pokemon is if you were a spoofer/botter who was sniping lv 30 mons with 100% IVs.
