Nobody asked, but back in gen 2 my favorite pokemon were Heracross, Aipom, Dunsparce, Houndour, Murkrow... mons that were a bitch to find. I assumed they were so rare because they were the strongest non-legendaries. Heracross manages to still be my favorite because it's the only one out of that list that didn't turn out to be worthless in battle. Nothing will ever compare to 7 yr old me finally catching an Aipom only to see it get its shit kicked in by every trainer it faced.
