Finally an asshole antagonist again!
I love his "ore-sama" and how he speaks with such a haughty attitude.
He actually has a backstory now so we have partial knowledge as to why he's an asshole and I'm curious to find out more...
Was he bullied at his new school? Did he become friends with someone who later betrayed him?
I love these types of characters and it helps that he's cute and a twink.
Such a nice attention to detail that Lear cannot Sync with his Pokemon, too.
Sawyer and Rachel: 8/10
I like it that they go way back with Lear and aren't just some randos he hired to help him with the event.
They care about Lear not just as their boss but as his friend and I like their contrasting appearances/personalities
Rachel is cuter than any of the female trainers in sw/sh there I said it
Paulo: 5/10 as he is
Absolute 10/10 if he goes down the dark path
Paulo as he is now is what you expect from a modern Pokemon rival: bland, boring, wants to beat you but can't stop being your friend
Unlike modern Pokemon rivals, however, he's not bouncing back into cheer-mode after so many losses
I'd love to see him go rogue in pursuit of power and along the way actually lose his ability to Sync with his Pokemon all the while Lear learns how to Sync.
It would also be interesting if Lear had some technology in the works to artificially sync with his Pokemon that Paulo gets ahold of, which maxes out his Pokemon's potential
Abandoning Rockruff would be a huge plus to Paulo becoming an asshole
Overall: I'm satisfied with these OCs
They feel like Pokemon and we haven't had a quality antagonistic rival like Lear since Hugh
I actually care about the story
Pretty sad when a mobile game has a better story than the main series but I'll take it
