>>38441913Mostly I just think of some sort of basic animal/concept and then add things I think will coalesce well together, for example these are based on woolly worms, salt crystals, box elder beetles, and the ecosystem of the great salt lake. There's also heavy inspiration from the dynastid beetle, the box elder beetle itself actually has no larval stage, however the dynastid beetle does, so y'know creative freedoms and such
