>>38980555>It's just a few PokemonYou don't know that. There's the very real possibility that it could be literally half the Pokedex gone or more. At the very least you can expect every mythical and legendary not from gen VIII to be in. That immediately fucks over event collectors.
>and they're bound to be back in the next games anywayYou don't know that, either. In fact, all evidence points to the opposite. Gamefreak decided to make this a policy moving forward. And really, it wouldn't be such a problem if they could be trusted to rotate the roster, or simply bring them all back in the next games.
But that's the thing, they CAN'T be trusted. If they really go through with this as a standard policy moving forward, we're going to see HUGE swaths of Pokemon that will go GENERATIONS without ever seeing use in a mainline game again.
>B-BUT THAT'LL ONLY HAPPEN TO BAD OR UNPOPULAR POKEMONNot necessarily. Even shillmon aren't safe, they could just as easily be shelved for a few gens while they push some other shillmon.
Here's something fucked up to think about, anon. I actually have a legitimate shiny Diancie. I have never used this Diancie in battle, because Gamefreak is so fucking incompetent that battle videos actually make it really easy to clone Pokemon your opponent uses. Now, if I transferred that Diancie to Home, I may never get to use it at all. It could be 10 years or more before we see Diancie in a game again under such a policy, all because it's a mythical and Gamefreak repeatedly passes it up to appear in a regional dex. Are you starting to see the issue yet?
As it stands, each new game is poised to hurt huge swaths of the fandom by simply excluding Pokemon they like. Gamefreak can't be trusted to rotate rosters properly. Inevitably, people will see their bros left behind for years at a time because of this. This is the darkest age of Pokemon now, where some will get to keep their bros and others will never get to see them again, all at GF's whimsy.
