>>38552075Not that anon, but they are kind of a pain in the ass and totally not worth it. You add a new Pokemon to a given species line, but instead of an evolution that could make it stronger, you give it a baby that will be utterly useless even in-game while the Pokemon it evolved into is still underwhelming or worse. On top of that newer babies require held items while breeding which just makes the process even more fucking stupid. And then you have games where you can only catch the baby, meaning you have to keep them in your party for a good while if you want to evolve them into their useful forms.
The worst ones by far are the ones that come out of the eggs as babies without any held items. Babies can't reproduce in the games, so if you're trying to breed for competitive stats, that means every single time you swap out a parent, you have to drop everything and raise their goddamn friendship to evolve them.
TL;DR they add very little on the competitive side and add nothing but trouble for those looking to breed for certain species. They are very cute and that's all they are.
