Don't worry, you're not making it up. That was actually a clever idea of them, and potentially made the multiversal theory canon.
You know, this thread made me realize how much thought they put into BW story. Although I'm not sold yet on the impact of truth and ideals on the plot, as concept they're pretty sophiticated.
