All the ranger games have kinda shit story. Nothing too much worse than a normal pokemon game though. Guardian signs has slightly better gameplay and doesn't force you to do side-quests constantly like Almia does, which is nice, however I personally found Guardian signs to be a boring tedious piece of work that I struggled to finish. Almia just has a better region imo, but even then nothing to special. The ending of Almia is pretty good, but unfortunately the difficulty of the final boss is underwhelming. Still, the end of Almia is a pretty cool climax that I enjoyed more than most of the main pokemon games, but mostly because of the cool location and music rather than for character reasons.
