I really enjoyed them both in Japanese and dub. the movies are very solid all the way through, fun, and there are plenty of pearl shipping moments(a lot actually). Great Pokemon and pokemon interactions. The Pokemon got great attention in the movies but this is also a DP thing. Ash and Dawn always got the main leads of the movies, brock always third-wheeled (also a DP thing) great animation it holds up well. plots good.
Personally, when I was a child, I remember them airing on cartoon network I would always make sure to record them when I could. additionally, during the summer they would sometimes have marathons of pokemon DP on during the day. I have really good memories of watching pokemon DP on hot summer days and swimming in are pool. its hard to explain but it was always so lively dining these times. its what I think of when i think of my childhood.
