Seeing how much focus they are putting on designs I'm just starting to think that they just got forced to make the new gen with the new characters and pokemon to make the merchandise and new Pokemon TCG sets.
So here is a question, do we need a mainline game to reveal new pokemon? With the TCG, the anime, Go and now Masters I think it would have even more reach.
Slowly add the new gen pokemon while working on a new polished game for that gen, sounds more appealing.
